Brow Lift

Also known as a forehead lift, this plastic surgery procedure is used to improve the placement of low or sagging brows, as well as improve lines on the forehead to enhance your appearance. Dr. McHugh will customize your treatment to your individual case, dependent upon your skin and muscle tone, as well as your forehead height. Through surgical incisions, the tissue and muscle beneath the skin can be repositioned or reshaped to correct the problem. This procedure may also be used conjunctively with a facelift, eyelid surgery or laser skin rejuvenation to improve your facial appearance.

Dr. McHugh will review any potential risks from a brow lift, including blood clots, scars and infection, before the procedure so you are fully informed before making a decision. After reviewing your expectations, he will answer any questions you may have regarding a brow lift.

Following the surgery, Dr. McHugh will give you specific instructions on how to care for the surgical site and what medications you may take during the healing stage. You may experience some swelling, numbness or discomfort after the surgery, but this is commonly alleviated with medication. Until the swelling from the brow lift surgery has subsided, Dr. McHugh may advise you to keep your head elevated. In about 5-10 days, your sutures will be removed and you should be fine to resume normal day-to-day activities. Over the course of several weeks, the remaining swelling will disappear and the final results will be visible once the healing is complete.
